Man, four sons arrested for murder

HARIPUR: The police arrested five persons from Gilgit in connection with a double murder case here on Sunday. Malik Iftikhar, president of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Tarbela Union Council, was on way home along with his friends on September 15, when armed assailants opened indiscriminate fire on them near Hassan Bai Road in Kripliyan village.
Malik Iftikhar, a resident of Khalabat, and his friend Ali Asghar, a resident of Kripliyan, were killed on the spot. Those arrested were identified as four brothers Naeem, Naseem, Faheem, Waseem and their father Muhammad Anwar, all from Kripliyan village. Motive behind the murder was said to be a land dispute.
