Foreign players to feature in CAS International Squash
KARACHI: Thirteen foreign players from eight countries will participate in the CAS International Squash Championship scheduled from November 16-21 in Islamabad.
According to the entry list of this $25,000 event, world number 30 Leo Au of Hong Kong is the top seed while world number 38 Greg Lobban of Scotland is the second seed.
Four players from Egypt – Mohamed Reda (third seed), Mazen Gamal (fifth seed), Karim El Hammamy (sixth seed), and Youssef Soliman – are in the main round.
Other foreign players in the main round are Piedro Schweertman of Netherlands (seventh seed), Nathan Lake of England (eighth seed) and Jaymie Haycocks of England.
Farhan Zaman (fourth seed) and Tayyab Aslam are the only Pakistani players in the main round, while Waqar Mehboob has been given a wildcard entry.
Shehab Essam of Egypt; Lance Beddoes of New Zealand; Aqeel Rehman of Austria and Ahmad Al-Saraj of Jordan are the other foreign players in the qualifying draw.
Shahjahan Khan, Khawaja Adil Maqbool, Farhan Mehboob, Asim Khan, Israr Ahmed, Zahir Shah, Amaad Fareed and Kashif Asif will represent Pakistan in the qualifying draw.
Pakistan has to host four PSA-25 events this year in Islamabad.
