LAHORE
Hot and humid weather continued to prevail in the provincial capital here Thursday while Met office predicted similar weather conditions for Friday (today).
The Met officials said weak seasonal low lies over north Balochistan while a westerly wave is present over north Afghanistan and its adjoining areas, its trough is extending towards upper parts of the county. The officials predicted mainly hot and dry weather in plain areas of the country while rain-thunderstorm is expected at isolated places in Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Mardan, Kohat, Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Gujranwala divisions, upper Fata, Islamabad, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
Rainfall was recorded in different cities, including Balakot (13mm), Malam Jabba (12mm), Kakul and Parachinar (10mm), Bannu (07mm), Saidu Sharif (05mm), Pattan (03mm), Rawalpindi (Shamsabad 08mm, Chaklala 05mm), Islamabad (Saidpur 06mm, Bokra 05mm, Golra and Zero Point 03mm), Murree , Mangla and Jhelum (05mm), Muzaffarabad (11mm), Kotli (09mm), Garhi Dupatta and Rawalakot (05mm).
Thursday’s highest maximum temperature was recorded at Turbat where mercury reached 43°C while in the city it was 34°C and humidity was 41 percent.
