Unity stressed during Muharram

PAKPATTAN: District Coordination Officer (DCO) Irfan Ahmad Sindhu Tuesday urged politicians, scholars and civil society leaders to forge unity among their ranks for the stability of the country and sacred month of Muharram.
Addressing a meeting of the peace committee, the DCO said Islam is a religion of peace.
The DCO said the police and the district administration have already chalked out a comprehensive security plan for Muharram and Urs of Hazrat Baba Fareed (RA).
DPO Malik Kamran Yusuf, ADC Arif Umar Aziz, AC Pakpattan Ashfaq Ahmad, District Information Officer Syed Suleman Hussain, member of peace committee and others also attended the meeting.
SECTION 144 IMPOSED: The DCO Tuesday imposed section 144 around examination centres in the district and banned entry of unauthorised persons in examination centres. The ban will remain intact till the completion of the examinations in the district.
