The other side
This refers to the letter, ‘Incorrect assumptions “(Sept 20) by Shakir Lakhani. The writer was quite harsh while criticising the renowned nuclear scientist. There are always two sides of a coin. In the article referred to by the writer, the negative impact of our current taxation policies on real estate was highlighted.
Does the writer believe that the current tax policies are beneficial? If so, why has the government taken so long to introduce this policy? Why didn’t the government increase the taxes in the budget 2013? The increased taxes will only affect the common man who will be deprived of buying a plot or an apartment. The government has, once again, played cleverly to generate revenues. It is easy to loot and rule the country.
