Do we have law?
Pakistan’s current situation is one of lawlessness. The people of the country suffer due to the acts of self-serving politicians. Had there been any law and regulation in the country then some of the elite would not have been enjoying a hefty pension and a salary simultaneously. Such people enjoy perks and privileges and go on foreign trips at state expense without serving office. The only cure for all ills and evils is the strict enforcement of rule of law.
This isn’t quite hard. This Monday (Sept 26), Brazil’s former chief of staff and finance minister Antonio Palocci was arrested on charges of corruption. If other countries can take action against corruption then why can’t Pakistan do that too? To save the state, the government should reprimand state officials living off unfairly at state expense.
