Raiwind march
PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Pervez Khattak and his cabinet ministers, MNAs and MPAs would lead the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers from all over the province to reach Lahore and participate in the protest rally in Raiwind today.
Spokesman for the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani told The News that all cabinet members, MNAs and MPAs would lead PTI workers from their respective constituencies and are expected to gather on the motorway. He said Chief Minister Pervez Khattak is expected to lead the party activists from his native Nowshera district. Mushtaq Ghani said Pervez Khattak is likely to lead all the PTI workers from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa when they gather on the motorway.
He said they expected thousands of PTI workers from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to participate in the Raiwind rally.“I can’t say exactly how many people would participate from our province in the rally but I am sure they would be in thousands,” stated Mushtaq Ghani, also special assistant to chief minister on information and higher education.
He said each union council had been provided 300 to 400 vehicles to carry the party workers to Raiwind and then drop them back in their respective areas.Mushtaq Ghani said they expected the rally to conclude in one day but all the cabinet members, elected representatives and party activists would do whatever PTI chairman Imran Khan orders them.
“We are going there for one day but may extend our stay there if our leader orders us,” he said.Meanwhile, PTI Fata chief organiser Dost Mohammad Mehsud has directed office-bearers and workers of the party in the seven tribal regions and four Frontier Regions to ensure their participation in the Raiwind rally.
In this regard, special committees have been formed to arrange transportation and logistic support for the rally participants. He said the PTI activists from Fata and FRs would join the main processions in Peshawar, Mardan, Bannu and Dera Ismail Khan.
Dost Mohammad Mehsud, a retired federal secretary, has urged the Insaf Student Organisation and the party youth wings to be prepared to face any eventuality in case of any opposition from gangsters of their rival political party.
In his address to PTI workers in Tank, he advised them to ensure unity in their ranks and act as the first line defence of Imran Khan. The PTI leader warned that certain elements allegedly planted by the Nawaz Sharif government have penetrated the ranks of PTI and might try creating divisions in the PTI. He said strict action would be taken against such elements if they were found creating mismanagement or disorder in the rally.
