PESHAWAR: A 12-year old boy was killed when an explosive device went off in a house in Pishtakhara here on Monday.
It was learnt that the boy, Ishaq, was seriously injured in the explosion. He was taken to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The police came to know about the incident a couple of hours after the blast.
It was not known as to whether the explosive, later declared a hand-grenade by the bomb disposal experts, was hurled inside the house or the boy had taken it to his home after mistaking it for a toy. “The parents didn’t report the incident to the police on time and gave wrong information to doctors. This raised some questions and we are inquiring into the matter,” said Assistant Superintendent of Police, Waseem Riaz.
