Islamabad: A German health delegation led by principal manager of KfW Bank Andrea Gordon on Friday expressed hope that the phase two of the implementation of a network of Regional Blood Centres and Hospital Blood Banks all over Pakistan would be smoother as valuable experience has been gained in the first phase, and many systems and procedures have already been developed.
Anrdrea stated this in her meeting with Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhury, Minister of State for Capital Administration & Development Division (CADD). The mission is visiting Pakistan for appraisal of its health projects including the Safe Blood Transfusion Project (SBTP), whose director Dr. Hasan Abbas Zaheer also attended the meeting.
The minister appreciated the German government’s support and assured that the government is committed to improving blood safety standards and the development of a modern Blood Centre in Islamabad through German support.
He assured the German delegation that the CAD Division closely coordinates with the Ministry of Health to ensure timely implementation of Phase II of the project.
