ISLAMABAD: Former foreign minister Khurshid Mahmud Kasuri during his Indian visit met veteran Indian filmstar Dilip Kumar and his spouse Saira Bano on Tuesday evening.
Dilip Kumar told the visiting former foreign minister of Pakistan that he visited Pakistan twice for diplomatic peace mission quietly along with senior officials; once in the late General Ziaul Haq’s period and the second time when Nawaz Sharif was the prime minister in his first stint.
Dilip Kumar also played a role in cooling off tensions during the clash for Kargil in 1999. Kasuri’s book. Khurshid Kasuri presented his book to Dalip while Dalip Kumar presented his book with his signature to the visitor.
Khurshid Kasuri also visited India’s father of nation Ghandi Jee’s house in Mumbai and paid his respects to the Indian leader. Khurshid Kasuri is likely to return home after spending two eventful weeks in India. He earlier launched his book in Indian capital New Delhi.
Former Indian Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh also attended the launching beside several prominent Indian leaders that was organised by Indian publisher of the book “The Penguin”. Khurshid Kasuri who entered India by road first visited Chandigarh where Khushwant Singh Munch organised literary festival and Kasuri took part in it.
