LAHORE
Scattered rain hit the provincial capital early Wednesday while Met office predicted more scattered rains during the next two or three days.
The Met officials said seasonal low lies over north Balochistan and its adjoining areas while a shallow westerly wave is affecting upper parts of the country and likely to affect during next two to three days. The Met officials predicted thunderstorm at scattered places in Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Mardan, Kohat, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sargodha, Faisalabad divisions, Islamabad, Kashmir Fata and Gilgit-Baltistan while hot and dry weather is expected elsewhere in the country.
Rainfall was recorded in many cities, including Lower Dir (29mm), Lahore (28mm), Pattan and Muzaffarabad (12mm each), Kamra (10mm), Dir (09mm), Bagrote (06mm), Murree (06mm), Garhi Dupatta, Saidu Sharif and Malam Jabba (05mm each), Cherat and Rawalakot (03mm),Kohat (04mm), Bunji (04mm) and Peshawar (02mm). Wednesday’s highest maximum temperature was recorded at Nokkundi where mercury reached 44°C while in Lahore it was 34°C and humidity was 56 percent.
