LONDON: England captain Eoin Morgan was a happy man after his side cruised to a 2-0 lead in their five-match One-day International (ODI) series with a four-wicket win in the second game here at Lord’s on Saturday evening.

Morgan, who contributed a fifty in a modest run-chase, heaped praise on his bowling attack for its “clinical performance”.

He hailed his opening bowlers Mark Wood and Chris Woakes for doing an early damage to Pakistan’s battling line-up. The hosts could never really recover from the loss of three wickets in quick succession and managed 251 despite a superb hundred from Sarfraz Ahmed.

“They bowled jaffas,” Morgan said in his post-match comments referring to Woakes and Mark Wood. “It was an awesome way to start. The bowlers put in a great effort. But our performance in the field has to be the priority. We’re a better fielding side than we’ve shown in the first two games.”

The two teams travelled to Nottingham on Sunday and will train at Trent Bridge on Monday (today) to get ready for the day-night encounter.
