LONDON: Pakistan on Friday allayed fears about the fitness of Mohammad Amir making it clear that their pace spearhead was fully fit for the second One-day International against England here at Lord’s on Saturday (today).
Team manager Intikhab Alam told ‘The News’ that Amir was 100 percent fit even as some reports suggested that the pacer was having some fitness issues after walking off the field during the series-opening game against England at the Ageas Bowl in Southampton on Wednesday night.
“There is absolutely no issue with Amir’s fitness. He is a 100 percent fit like all of our other players and each one of them is available for tomorrow’s game,” said Intikhab on the sidelines of a training session here at Lord’s on Thursday.
Amir took an active part in the training session and seems all set to take the new ball in today’s game.
