ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People’s Party has decided to raise the issue of Indian border aggression, in which eight people were killed and 24 injured, in the National Assembly.
PPP lawmakers Shahzia Atta Mari, Dr. Nafisa Shah, Mir Aijaz Hussain Jakhrani, Abdul Sattar Bachani and Mrs. Beelam Hasnain have submitted an adjournment motion in the National Assembly Secretariat under Rule 110 of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in the National Assembly, 2007 seeking adjournment of the proceedings of the House to discuss the urgent and serious matter of continuous breach of Pak-India border by the Indian security forces.
It particularly mentions India’s Border Security Force (BSF) unprovoked firing and shelling in Charwa Sector near the Sialkot Working Boundary. “Such unprincipled and villainous actions by India are further escalating the tension between the two neighboring countries as India has breached several times the ceasefire agreement of 2003 between the two countries,” the adjournment motion stated.
The PPP legislators stated that by doing so India wanted to disrupt peace in the region. “If the situation remains the same, it may lead to further worsening of ties between the two countries and it is a serious issue and requires immediate discussion on the floor of the House”.
