55 booked for beating woman, blocking road

OKARA: City-A Division police on Wednesday booked five nominated and 50 unidentified people on the charges of damaging a police vehicle, blocking Mandi Road and beating a woman on suspicion of kidnapping a child on Tuesday.
A woman, identified as Zubeda of 33/2RA village, was beaten and thrashed by a mob on suspicion of kidnapping a child. On the report of sub-inspector Ashiq Abid, the police have registered a case under sections 324, 427, 341, 353, 186, 148, 149 PPC and Section 7-ATA against Atif, Sayyam, Hasnain, Shahid and Mithu and 50 others.
5 COPS BOOKED FOR THREATENING MAN: On the order of the additional sessions judge, City-A Division police on Wednesday booked five policemen for thrashing and hurling threats to a man.
Abdul Rahman filed a petition in the court stating that ASI Ashfaq, Muharrar Naeem and three other cops allegedly thrashed him and threatened him of dire consequences.
