PESHAWAR: Senior journalist Ismail Khan, who is Peshawar editor of daily Dawn since 2001, has been honoured with President’s Pride of Performance Award for his services in the field of journalism.
He started his career from The News International and remained associated with it as senior reporter from 1991-2001 in Peshawar. He worked as deputy to senior journalist Rahimullah Yusufzai.
Ismail Khan in his remarks said that Rahimullah Yusufzai motivated him to join journalism. “He was my teacher and mentor. I owe this award to him,” he said in his comments after his nomination for the award.Ismail Khan also works for The New York Times and was a member of the reporting team of the newspaper that won the prestigious Pulitzer Award for the best coverage of Pakistan and Afghanistan in 2009.Ismail Khan also works as an analyst for the Voice of America.
