Website launched

A joint launch ceremony of the website of Pakistan Administrative Service Association (PASA), www. civilservice.org.pk and 'Pakistan Administration Development & Public Policy Journal' published by Pakistan Administrative Service Alumni Research Centre, was held at Civil Officers Mess, Lahore, on Saturday.
Punjab Additional Chief Secretary Shamail Ahmad Khawaja was the chief guest on the occasion. The officers of Pakistan Administrative Service posted in Punjab participated in the ceremony.
Addressing the PAS officers, the additional chief secretary termed the launch of the new website and research journal of PAS Association an effort of such a significant nature that could fill the gap of centuries between the developed countries and the developing country of Pakistan. He stressed upon the need to promote linkage between the policy formulation and the practitioners of public policy.
"We should promote quality while disseminating various ideas to progress in the field of public administration, development, management," he said.
Shamail Ahmed Khawaja lauded the innovative approach of the young officers belonging to Pakistan Administrative Service and said Pakistan Civil Service had always maintained the highest standards of dedication to the service of the motherland. He paid tributes to scores of PAS officers who embraced martyrdom in the line of duty.
Chief editor of the new website, Khalid Sherdil, the Punjab industries secretary, highlighted the achievements of the civil servants; six of whom rose to the position of heads of the state or government, four became chief justices of Pakistan, others distinguished themselves as authors, writers, artists, and philanthropists. The public area of the website honours the heroes among civil servants. The editor of Journal of Pakistan Administration, Development and Public Policy, Dr Saad S Khan explained that it was the first ever peer reviewed policy research journal in Pakistan. The journal will carry research papers on thematic areas and practitioners reports from serving field officers.
