JUI-F leader shot dead in Lower Dir
TIMERGARA: Unidentified armed men shot dead a leader of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) in Lower Dir, officials said on Thursday.
They said that Said Shah Ali Khan, deputy general secretary of JUI-F in Lower Dir district, was sleeping in his house at Amlook Darra in Talash when unidentified persons barged into the house late in the night and gunned him down.
The police have registered the case against unidentified killers and started an investigation. District Police Officer (DPO), Lower Dir, Ali Akbar Shah, also visited the crime scene and assured the people that the murderers would soon be arrested.
Said Shah Ali Khan was a senior member of JUI-F and had been playing an active role for resolution of local issues.
Meanwhile, the charged workers of JUI-F, after offering the funeral prayers of Said Shah Ali Khan, staged a protest at Talash Bazaar against the murder. They set a three-day deadline for the arrest of the killers. The protesters blocked the Peshawar-Timergara Highway for a while and chanted slogans against the provincial government and district administration.
