Rain disrupts Sunday bazaars
LAHORE
Late afternoon rain disrupted arrangements in weekly makeshift markets as rainwater inundated the bazaars.
Earlier, vendors fleeced buyers by overcharging and selling rotten and substandard vegetables and fruits at A-category rates. Except a very few vegetables and fruits in the bazaars there were no A-category commodities there, but A-category rates were issued to the vendors. Vendors overcharged the customers in the absence of any government official.
The price of potato soft skin was fixed at Rs 37 to 40 per kg, sugar free at Rs 23 to 26 per kg, and store at Rs 17 to 19 per kg, while stored sold at Rs 40 per kg.
Onion price was reduced by Rs 2 per kg, fixed at Rs 16 to 18 per kg, mixed was sold Rs 18 per kg.
The price of tomato was reduced by Rs 4 per kg, fixed at Rs 59 to 64 per kg, sold at Rs 65 to 70 per kg.
Garlic local was reduced by Rs 15 per kg, fixed at Rs 188 to 200 per kg, garlic China by Rs 16 per kg, fixed at Rs 220 to 234 per kg, both sold at Rs 240 per kg.
Ginger Chinese was increased by Rs 14 per kg fixed at Rs 78 to 85 per kg, sold at Rs 90 per kg.
The price of brinjal was declined by Rs 5 per kg, fixed at Rs 26 to 30 per kg.
Cucumber local was gained by Re one per kg fixed at Rs 42 to 45 per kg, sold at Rs 50 per kg.
Bitter gourd also reduced by Rs 5 per kg, fixed at Rs 51 to 55 per kg, sold at Rs 60 per kg.
Spinach price was reduced by Rs 2 per kg, at Rs 23 to 25 per kg, rain water damaged was sold at Rs 30 per kg.
Lemon local was increased by Rs 26 per kg, fixed at Rs 87 to 95 per kg, sold at Rs 100 per kg.
Zucchini local was at Rs 56 to 60 per kg, sold at Rs 70 per kg.
The price of pumpkin was gained by Rs 5 per kg, fixed at Rs 46 to 50 per kg.
Luffa price was increased by Rs 3 per kg, fixed at Rs 42 to 45 per kg, sold at Rs 50 per kg.
Ladyfinger was reduced by Rs 8 per kg, fixed at Rs 65 to 70 per kg sold at Rs 90 per kg.
Arum was declined by Rs 3 per kg, fixed at Rs 51 to 55 per kg, sold at Rs 60 per kg.
Green chilli local price was fixed at Rs 56 to 60 per kg, Farm at Rs 37 to 40 per kg, both sold at Rs 60 to 80 per kg.
Capsicum was gained by Rs 12 per kg, fixed at Rs 65 to 70 per kg, sold at Rs 80 per kg.
Coriander was stable at Rs 140 per kg, sold at Rs 400 per kg.
The price of different variety of apples was fixed at Rs 56 to 100 per kg, sold at Rs 100 to 120 per kg.
The price of banana A-quality was fixed at Rs 56 to 60 per dozen, B-quality at Rs 37 to 40 per dozen, sold at Rs 60 per dozen.
Guava price was fixed at Rs 46 to 50 per kg with an increase of Rs 5 per kg, sold at Rs 80 per kg.
Peach A-category was fixed at Rs 135 per kg, B-category at Rs 85 per kg, mix was sold at Rs 100 to 130 per kg.
The price of different variety of mangoes was fixed at Rs 42 to 100 per kg while sold at Rs 80 to 100 per kg.
Apricot white was fixed Rs 135 to 145 per kg, not sold there.
Grapes sundarkhani was fixed at Rs 130 to 170 per kg, sold at Rs 200 per kg, grapes black was at Rs 125 to 135 per kg, not sold.
Peer was fixed at Rs 51 to 55 per kg, while not sold due to wrong price fixation issue while in market sold at Rs 80 to 100 per kg.
