The University of Karachi has awarded four MPhil and six PhD degrees to students in various disciplines.
KU Registrar Professor Dr Mozzam Ali Khan said on Thursday that Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Muhammad Qaiser had given formal approval to the award of the degrees when he chaired a meeting of the university’s Board of Advanced Studies and Research.
He noted that the PhD degrees were awarded to Syed Muhammad Fahad in mathematics, Farhana Tasleem in pharmacognosy, Shafiqur Rehman in law, Javed Masih in political science, Dr Naheed Qadir in biochemistry and Sumaira Javaid in chemistry (HEJ).
The registrar said that the MPhil degrees were awarded to Nasir Ilyas from the Institute of Space and Planetary Astrophysics, Shomaila Rasheed from Pharmacology, Riaz Ahmed from the Shaikh Zayed Islamic Research Centre and Hira Sharif from the Applied Economics Research Centre.
