Commissioner reviews dengue control measures

The Commissioner Rawalpindi Division Azmat Mehmood has said that during current monsoon season dengue field staff should devote themselves to ensure hundred percent surveillance and screening of areas marked as hotspot for dengue.
He issued these directives while presiding over a meeting to review the dengue control measures. DCO, Rawalpindi, Talat Mehmood Gondal, EDO, Health Dr. Arshad Sabir, Director Metropolitan Planning Engineering Jamsahd Aftab, Deputy Director Town Planning Tahir Meo and other officers attended the meeting.
Commissioner Rawalpindi said that incentives would be given to dengue field staff on their outstanding performance during anti dengue campaign. He said that with the current seasons is very favourable for larvae breeding and special focus would be given to those union councils where dengue cases had been reported.
The Commissioner Rawalpindi directed that stern action should be taken again the owners of under construction buildings where larvae have been identified consecutively. He said building plans of such buildings should be cancelled which had been causing spread of dengue. He said shortage of entomologists had been removed by fulfill the gap. He said zero tolerance should be observed on violation of dengue preventive measures. He also directed for fogging in graveyards by eradication of wild growth.
DCO, Rawalpindi Talat Mehmood Gondal believed about the measures adopted to monitor the dengue surveillance activities and said that supervisory staff has been assigned duties to evaluate the performance of field teams.
