The Sindh Public Service Commission had conducted examinations for recruitment for the positions of additional prosecution general, district public prosecutor and deputy prosecutor general in 2013. But the prosecutors moved the Sindh High Court, saying that the government was recruiting on these positions at the cost of the promotion quota of regular prosecutors. The SHC observed that the government can appoint directly through the SPSC.
Almost one year has passed since the SHC had vacated the stay – but the Sindh government, instead of letting the SPSC announce the results of the test, has been violating the Sindh Criminal Prosecution Service Act 2009 by appointing its blue-eyed boys on contract. It is the right of the candidates who had appeared in the test to know whether the SPSC will announce the result or not.
