Murad to be 32nd Sindh CM, 27th since country’s creation
Karachi
Murad Ali Shah will be the 32nd chief minister of Sindh since the time it was separated from Bombay Residency in 1936.
However, will be the 27th chief minister of the province since the creation of Pakistan in 1947.
He will be also unique among his predecessors because his father, Abdullah Shah, had also served as the chief executive of the province.
Abdullah Shah had served as the chief minister from 21 October 1993 to November 6 1996 when Benazir Bhutto had become the prime minister of the country for the second time.
Sindh Governor Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad will administer oath of office to Murad on Friday. Also, Ebad will be administering this oath for a record sixth time.
Earlier, Ebad had administered to Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim, Abdul Qadir Halepoto, Justice (retd) Zahid Qurban Alvi, and Qaim Ali Shah.
Qaim had taken oath office as the chief minister twice from Ebad, who has been holding the office of the Sindh governor since December 2002.
