DCs budget proceedings to be filmed

PESHAWAR: The Local Government and Rural Development Department (LG&RDD) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Tuesday directed its staff in the districts to film the budget proceedings and release it to the media.

In a circular to the assistant directors in the districts, the Local Government and Rural Development Department directed the officers to ensure proper media coverage for the district councils’ budget session proceedings to ensure transparency and people’s engagement in the budgetary affairs of their respective districts.

The Local Government and Rural Development Department asked the assistant directors that proper media coverage must be given to all budget sessions of the councils under their jurisdiction and complete proceedings must be filmed in a fair and transparent manner.

It directed the assistant directors to make three sets of video recordings of the budget proceeding of the district councils and send the recordings to media, other sections of the department and upload to the official website.
