An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Tuesday extended the physical remands of five suspects, including four police personnel, in the murder case of young a young man, Muhammad Abrar, who was allegedly shot dead by policemen on July 11 in Sindhi Muslim Society.
Officials of the Ferozabad Police produced constable Kaleemullah, constable Rashid Ali, constable Nadeem Khan, constable Saeed Ahmed and a civilian, Mirza Nawaz Baig, before the administrative judge of the ATC concerned, seeking extension in their physical remands.
The investigation officer (IO) requested the court to extend the physical remand of the suspects, saying that they were further required for interrogation.
While accepting the IO’s request, the judge allowed the investigators to keep the suspects with them till July 29.
Earlier on July 11, Abrar was allegedly gunned down by four policemen near the Habib Bank branch situated at Muslim Society.
The ill-fated man was chasing down Nawaz Baig, a buyer he had found online who turned out to be a fraudster. According to the police, Nawaz Baig was arrested in injured condition whereas the four accused policemen were produced voluntarily by their officer in the police station.
