BUREWALA: Four members of a family fainted after having poisonous breakfast at Yaqoobabad on Sunday. Asad Ali brought breakfast from a local restaurant. After having breakfast, Asad, his wife Warda, two-year-old daughter Pakeeza and his 14-year-old sister in-law Maham fell unconscious. They were rushed to the THQ hospital where doctors provided them with medical treatment. The family alleged that pieces of dead lizard were found in the breakfast.
Later, City SHO Shaukat Ali raided the restaurant and arrested three workers Muhammad Waqas, Tauqeer Ahmad and Muhammad Kashif. Owner Liaquat Ali, however, managed to escape. A case has been registered.
Following Vehari DCO Akbar Bhatti’s directions, Deputy District Health Officer Dr Khalid Mehmood and District Sanitary Inspector Zulfiqar Ali sealed the breakfast point. Food samples have been sent to laboratory.
