PESHAWAR: The Haj flights operation from Bacha Khan International Airport, Peshawar, would start from August 4.This was told to a meeting of officers of Haj Directorate Peshawar convened to review the pre-Haj arrangements.
Director Haj Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shakeel Ahmad Sethi chaired the meeting. The Chief Security Officer, Airport Security Force, Bacha Khan International Airport, Peshawar Shad Muhammad Khattak also attended the meeting, a press release said.
Director Haj KP Shakeel Ahmad Sethi told the meeting that a total of 25,319 pilgrims from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata) would perform Haj this year.
He said out of the total pilgrims, 13,917 will perform Haj under government scheme while 11,402 under private scheme. He the flight operation would continue till September 03. He said that all the banks including HBL, MCB, NBP, UBL etc. would open their branches at Haji Camp in Peshawar to facilitate the pilgrims.
Besides this, he said, round the clock services would be provided to pilgrims at the camp. It was decided that police would provide security to the buses carrying pilgrims from the camp to airport.
