5 die in Charsadda road accident
CHARSADDA: Five persons including four of a family died when a loaded truck fell into a stream in the limits of Khan Mahi Police Station, police officials said on Sunday.
They said the truck carrying wood fell into the stream at Shakh No. 6 area of the district late Saturday night. Later, residents of the area made announcements on loudspeakers in the mosques asking the people to join the rescue efforts. The bodies were recovered from the canal after hectic efforts by the local divers.
Initially, the bodies were taken to a hospital where they were handed over to the relatives for burial, a local resident said. The deceased identified as Ayyan, Samiullah, Saz Muhammad, Waheed Gul were laid to rest at their ancestral graveyard in Umarzai while Salman in Sherpao area of the district.
