Waste-carrying vehicle fined

LAHORE
Lahore Waste Management Company’s (LWMC) enforcement team on Wednesday fined a vehicle of a private company for transporting waste in violation of Solid Waste Management bylaws.
Officials said the vehicle was carrying waste without ensuring any precautionary and health measures.
The stink from waste caused disturbance to the people on Canal Road when the waste carrying lorry got out of order in the middle of the road.
The enforcement team of LWMC responded to the citizens' complaint, removed the vehicle from the road and fined the company Rs 1,000. A spokesperson for LWMC, Jamil Khan, said that on the instructions of MD Bilal Mustafa Syed, enforcement team had been put on alert and such acts of negligence wouldn’t be tolerated.
