Vehicle owners suffer due to ‘faulty’ verification system

PESHAWAR: The owners of motorcars and motorcycles are suffering due to the faulty system of vehicle verification by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police, an official said on Sunday.The system does not carry the record of a number of vehicles and the cops take the owners to police stations and some even insult them.
“Thousands of people are suffering due to the system recently introduced by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police. They have complete record and valid documents at the concerned Excise and Taxation Department, but the cops insist they have to take the cars to the police station as their system does not provide any details of the said vehicle,” a source said.
“I have all the valid documents properly verified from the Excise Department, but the cops at the snap checking post told me their device showed no data of the car,” said a car owner Javed Khan belonging to Peshawar.
