Three killed as car rams into tractor

OKARA: Three people were killed and two others injured when their car rammed into a tractor-trolley at Renala Khurd Bypass on Monday morning.
Muhammad Ali, Muhammad Zafar, Muhammad Hussain, Muhammad Ashraf and Muhammad Naeem were going to Lahore from Bahawalnagar when their car rammed into a tractor-trolley. As a result, Muhammad Ali, Zafar and Muhammad Hussain were killed on the spot while Naeem and Ashraf were seriously injured. The injured car riders were shifted to a hospital. Renala Khurd City police have impounded the vehicle and registered a case.
MAN SHOT DEAD: A man was shot dead and his father injured over a minor issue here.
Nasir of Forest Colony, Pipli Pahar, had quarreled with Liaqat over a minor issue. Later, Liaqat with his accomplice Manzoor allegedly opened fire on Nasir and his father Abdul Ghafoor. As a result, Nasir was killed on the spot while his father was seriously injured. He was shifted to a hospital. Depalpur Sadr police have registered a case and started investigation.
TWO SMUGGLERS BOOKED: Basirpur police registered a case against two smugglers for smuggling Indian wine amounting to Rs 264,000 near Tahli Baggar.
Allah Ditta of Thattha Nol and Muhammad Aslam Wattoo of Tahli Baggarr carrying bundles on their heads were entering Pakistan through India border when Rangers Inspector Muhammad Iqbal and others intercepted them. To it, the smugglers threw the bundles and opened fire on the Rangers personnel. The Rangers personnel also retaliated. However, the smugglers succeeded to escape. When the Rangers personnel opened the bundles, they recovered Indian wine bottles from them.
SEVEN BOOKED: Sadr police booked two women and five men for running a brothel at Chak 52/2-L.
On a tip-off, police raided the house to arrest proclaimed offender Waseem Iqbal Jatt, but he managed to escape with the help of his accomplice Ashraf. When police entered the house, they saw that Yasmeen Bibi, Moafia Bibi, Waqas, Nadeem, Altaf, Ramzan and Asghar were allegedly running a brothel.
No compromise to be made on
security of Chinese engineers: CM

OKARA: Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that no compromise will be made on security of Chinese engineers.
He said this while inspecting pace of work on the Head Sulemanki remodeling project at Sutlej River near Pakistan-India border on Monday morning. He directed the officers concerned to ensure use of quality material in the project. He said that the project was significant for the surrounding areas. Provincial Irrigation Secretary Saif Anjum, Shebo of the Syno-Hydro Company and engineers of the Nespak briefed the chief minister about total cost and other aspects of the project.
Earlier, the chief minister was received at a helipad by MNAs Mian Moin Khan Wattoo and Rao Muhammad Ajmal, Sahiwal Commissioner Babar Hayat Tarrar, Regional Police Officer Tariq Rustam Chohan, DCO Sucrat Aman Rana and DPO Muhammad Faisal Rana.
