ISLAMABAD: The police handed over the charge sheet to the prosecution for further examination on Friday.
The case is being heard in the district and sessions courts, Islamabad.
A two-member prosecution team comprising Raja Naveed Kayani and Muhammad Adnan will scrutinise the report.
After the scrutiny of the charge sheet is completed, it will be presented to the court.
The trial will begin in the court of the concerned judge after the charge sheet is officially presented.
The charge sheet has nominated Umar Hayat as the accused and identified him as prime suspect in the case.
The report also includes testimonies of Sana Yousaf’s mother, her aunt and other witnesses.
The charge sheet also contains a reference to the accused’s confessional statement recorded under Section 164 of the CrPC.
