Woman injured in acid attack by husband

OKARA: A woman was injured in an acid attack by her husband at Sabri Colony on Sunday.

Ashfaq and his wife Asma quarreled with each other over a domestic dispute. In a fit of frustration, Ashfaq allegedly threw acid on his wife. As a result, she received serious burns. She was shifted to the DHQ Hospital. A-Division police have registered a case and started investigation.

WOMAN MURDERED: A woman was axed to death by her husband over a domestic dispute here on Sunday.

Nasreen Akhtar and her husband Muhammad Ashraf used to quarrel with each other over domestic disputes. On the day of the incident, the couple again quarreled. In a fit of frustration, Ashraf allegedly axed his wife to death. Ravi police have registered a case and started investigation.

EID GIFTS: Sahiwal Commissioner Babar Hayat Tarar distributed Eid gifts among the deserving persons in a function at the Okara Arts Council here on Sunday.

The Eid gifts include 76 wheelchairs, 100 white canes, 30 hearing aid instruments. DCO Sucrat Aman Rana, DPO Muhammad Faisal Rana, Rana Ashraf Javed and others were also present.

Meanwhile, MNA Ch Riazul Haq Juj and MPA Mian Muhammad Munir distributed Eid gifts among the staff and prisoners in a function at the District Jail. Superintendent Jail Noor Hassan Baghela and others were also present.
