President assents to budget bill

ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari Monday assented to the Finance Bill 2025, giving effect to the federal government’s financial proposals for the year beginning on the first day of July, 2025, and to amend certain laws.
The Finance Act 2025 will be effective from today (Tuesday, July 1, 2024). The president assented to the finance bill on the advice of prime minister under Article 75 of the Constitution.
Following the president’s assent, the Finance Act 2025 was notified. On June 26, the National Assembly passed the Finance Bill, 2025 with certain amendments, adopting financial proposals for the fiscal year beginning on July 01, 2025 by the majority vote.
