Despite reports confirming that Pakistan currently has adequate electricity production, Rawalpindi residents still face hours of outages. The core issue lies in the inefficiency of the utilities companies and the outdated infrastructure. While consumers are burdened with countless taxes, the service delivery continues to deteriorate. In many areas, even a minor fault like a transformer issue takes hours or even days to resolve. Helplines often go unanswered and field teams are unresponsive. This negligence is not only frustrating but potentially dangerous. I urge the government and the concerned authorities to modernise the electrical infrastructure and provide a clear loadshedding schedule.
