This letter refers to the article ‘A risky race without a rulebook’ (June 14, 2025) by Dr Sharmila Faruqi. The crypto phenomenon has already taken the world by storm. Some countries have embraced it readily while many others have been rather slow and cautious. The fact is that everything we do today, all our financial transactions and data, are all online or digital. In the near future, paper money will be gone and digital or virtual assets, currencies and services will be the ‘new normal’ everywhere. We should be prepared for this development.
We must begin to explore crypto, but do so very cautiously and keep our national interests in perspective. The crypto journey should be manned by our best and most honest minds.
