Minister, BISP chief discuss cash handout initiatives
Islamabad: Federal Minister for Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety Syed Imran Ahmad Shah met with Chairperson of the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) Rubina Khalid and exchanged views on various cash handout initiatives.
These included the Benazir Nashonuma Programme, Benazir Taleemi Wazaif, and the Benazir Kafalat Programme, among others.
The discussion focused on improving the effectiveness and outreach of these social safety programs.
A special focus of the meeting was the Benazir Hunarmand Programme, which aims to provide vocational and technical skills to youth, enabling them to become self-reliant.
The minister appreciated the vision and structure of the Hunarmand initiative, stating that the Benazir Hunarmand Programme is the future of our youth.
Empowering them through skill development is a concrete step towards sustainable poverty alleviation.
The minister also lauded the efforts of BISP Chairperson Rubina Khalid and Secretary Amir Ali, appreciating their selfless dedication and commitment to serving the nation’s most vulnerable segments.
He said that strong leadership within BISP is key to the program’s ongoing success and credibility.
The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to strengthen bilateral cooperation and further enhance the impact of BISP programmes across Pakistan.
