AWKUM wins maximum grants at tech competition
MARDAN: Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan (AWKUM) has won maximum grants in the technology competition across the province.
A press release said the Science and Technology Awards 2025 were organized by the Directorate General of Science and Technology, Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and were held in IMSciences.
Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan won five research grants in the undergraduate research programme and seven in the interdisciplinary masters’ studentship programme, ranking first among 33 universities across the province.
The university won a total of 12 research awards, while the University of Peshawar one GIK one, COMSATS, Abbottabad five, Hazara University won three, Pak Austria seven, Bacha Khan University one, University of Swat three, Swabi University one, University of Haripur one, University of Bannu one.
Secretary Science and Technology, DG Science and Technology, Vice Chancellors, Directors of ORIC and a large number of students from across the province were present.Provincial Minister for Science and Technology Shafqat Ayaz, while addressing the ceremony as a chief guest, said in the present era, wars are fought with technology and we should pay special attention to technology.
