Guard held for attempting to assault minor

LAHORE:Nadeemabad Police Wednesday arrested a security guard on charges of attempting to assault a 7-year-old girl. Usman allegedly lured the girl while she was playing outside her house and took her to his office where he tried to assault her. The police have registered a case on the complaint by the victim's mother.

404kg ice seized in five months

Lahore Police have seized 404 kilogrammes of crystal meth—commonly known as ‘ice’—over the past five months. According to the DIG Operations, this significant recovery is the result of a modern policing approach. The amount of crystal meth seized represents a 653 percent increase compared to the same period in 2023 and a 130 percent increase from 2024.

Several suspects arrested in crackdown

Lahore Police Wednesday carried out a series of successful operations across the city, arresting numerous suspects involved in serious criminal activities.

In targeted raids, Millat Park and Hanjarwal police arrested four drug peddlers, while Misri Shah police apprehended accused Shabbir for allegedly attempting to assault his sister-in-law under the pretense of a job offer. At the sessions court, Islampura Police arrested an armed man who, along with his accomplices, was allegedly planning an attack on rivals.

Shafiqabad Police captured two burglars and recovered narcotics and illegal weapons from their possession. In a separate case, Chowki General Hospital Police traced and recovered a missing 17-year-old girl Fatima. Garhi Shahu police arrested a bootlegger and recovered 100 litre liquor.

The Dolphin Squad and the Vigilance and Patrol Response Unit (VPRU) detained 26 people for illegal arms display and aerial firing. Additionally, the Mujahid Squad arrested two wanted criminals, Ahmed and Mushtaq, who were linked to cases of kidnapping, gang rape, and murder.

128 drug peddlers held

Punjab Police arrested 128 suspected drug peddlers in the past 24 hours during 231 raids conducted across the province. According to a spokesperson for Punjab Police, officers recovered 68 kilograms of charas, 5 kilograms of heroin, 5 kilograms of crystal meth, and 1,486 litres of liquor during the operations.
