Tribes unanimously agree to maintain peace and order in region for next year

PARACHINAR: A jirga of elders from various tribes at Ali Mangala Fort and Pewar reached a peace agreement on Monday for one year in the Kurram tribal district.

The jirga, chaired by Kurram Deputy Commissioner Ashfaq Khan, was held at Ali Mangala Fort, Pewar, comprising various tribes in the district, including Ghundikhel, Duperzai, Alizai Pewar, and the tribes of Mangal, Kharoti, Gaon Tari, Sarsarang, Gidu, Spina Shaga, Kotri, Pewar Tangi, Gobzana, and Shalozan Tangi, among others.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Kurram Amir Nawaz, District Police Officer Kurram Malik Habib Khan, Commanding Officer of 39-AK, Commanding Officer of Ali Mangala Fort, members of Anjuman Hussainia Parachinar, Tehreek Hussainia Parachinar and members of Anjuman Farooqi attended the jirga.

During the jirga, the tribes unanimously agreed to maintain peace and order in the region for the next year. All tribes pledged full cooperation with the government during this period and vowed to refrain from any actions that could disrupt peace and stability.

The tribal elders gave an assurance that mutual peace would be maintained throughout the year and no steps would be taken that could be detrimental to regional harmony.

They also said that if any miscreant attempted to disturb the peace, the tribes would fully cooperate with the government in identifying and addressing the threat.

Addressing the jirga, the deputy commissioner said that the district administration and security forces were committed to restoring peace and order in the region with the support of the tribes.

He appreciated the tribes’ positive initiative and expressed hope that this peace pact would help in establishing long-term peace in the area.
