Motorway toll for vehicles with no M-Tag or low balance up 50pc
Revised toll charges will apply across entire motorway network
LAHORE: The National Highway Authority (NHA) has announced a 50 percent increase in toll rates for all vehicles without an M-Tag or with low balance, effective from June 15, 2025. The revised toll charges will apply across the entire motorway network.
According to a notification issued by the NHA’s Finance Wing, the decision has been made under Section 10(2)(vii) of the NHA Act, 1991, as amended in 2024. The objective is to encourage the use of electronic toll collection systems and ensure smoother traffic flow.
The new toll for a car on the Islamabad–Peshawar Motorway (M-1) is set at Rs850, for a bus Rs2,500, and Rs4,000 for an articulated truck. On the Lahore–Islamabad Motorway (M-2), the toll for a car is Rs1,800, bus Rs6,100 and truck Rs10,200. The toll for a car on the Lahore–Abdul Hakeem Motorway (M-3) is Rs1,200 and Rs3,750 for a bus. On the Pindi Bhattian–Multan route (M-4), the toll for a car is Rs1,600 and Rs4,800 for a bus.
For the Multan–Sukkur Motorway (M-5), the toll for a car is Rs1,800, for a bus Rs5,500, and for an articulated truck Rs8,650. On the Karachi–Hyderabad Motorway (M-9), the toll for a car is Rs550 and Rs1,850 for a bus. On the D I Khan–Hakla Motorway (M-14), the toll for a car is Rs1,000 and R3,300 for a bus. On the Hassanabdal–Mansehra Expressway (E-35), a car will be charged Rs450 and a bus Rs1,350.
