Bid to smuggle kite string foiled; two arrested

LAHORE: Police said on Sunday an attempt to smuggle kite-flying materials was foiled and two accused arrested during a raid in the Hanjrawal area. According to a police spokesperson, a police team conducted the operation which led to the arrest of two individuals identified as Zaman and Shehzad. Iqbal Town SP said the suspects were allegedly involved in online trade of kites and metallic string. He further stated that the accused were also found to be engaged in kite-flying activities during the night in the vicinity. Police recovered hundreds of kites and 19 spools of string from their possession and registered a case against them under the Punjab Prohibition of Kite Flying (Amendment) Act.
