Four kidnappers arrested, victim rescued in North Nazimabad
Four suspected kidnappers were arrested on the night between Wednesday and Thursday following an exchange of fire with police. A kidnapped person was also safely recovered from the suspects’ custody.
According to the the Shahrah-e-Noor Jahan police, the encounter took place near the KDA Chowrangi flyover. The operation, which was conducted with the help of local citizens, resulted in the arrest of four suspects — one of whom was injured during the crossfire.
The injured suspect was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medical treatment and identified as 25-year-old Ashar Ashfaq. The other suspects were identified as Kamran, Irfan and Daniyal.
Kamran was briefly subjected to beating by enraged citizens during the operation, but was later rescued by police personnel and taken into custody. Police seized two pistols with ammunition, mobile phones, cash and a Suzuki Alto car used in the crime.
Police confirmed that the suspects were involved in short-term kidnapping cases aimed at extortion or ransom. A case has been registered, and further investigations are under way to determine the full extent of the group's criminal activities.
