Sahir Associates, MIT Solutions set for President’s Trophy final
LAHORE: MIT Solutions and Sahir Associates will battle for the President’s Trophy Grade-II title at Abbottabad Cricket Stadium from Thursday (today) to June 1 (Sunday), marking the conclusion of the 2024-25 domestic season.
The champion team will receive PKR 5 million, while the runners-up will collect PKR 2.5 million. Additionally, the winner will qualify for the President’s Trophy Grade-I 2025-26, Pakistan’s premier departmental first-class competition.
Sahir Associates topped Group D, winning four matches and drawing two. They progressed through the quarterfinals and semifinals against Ghani Institute and JDW Sugar Mills, advancing on first-innings leads.
MIT Solutions, finishing second in Group C, recorded three wins, one loss, and two draws. They also secured first-innings leads in their knockout matches against Kingsmen and Wing 999 to reach the final.
Sahir Associates boast wicketkeeper-batter Asim Ali Nasir, who ranks second in tournament runs with 735 runs in 12 innings, alongside 23 dismissals behind the stumps. Mohammad Bilawal (31 wickets) and Shahid Ali (22 wickets) have led their bowling attack.
MIT Solutions rely on their batting duo of Muhammad Afzal (491 runs) and Husnain Nadeem (483 runs), while pacers Shahab Khan (23 wickets) and Raza Ullah (21 wickets) have been key performers.
