Over the past few years, intolerance and extremism have continued to grow, accompanied by a growing disregard for people who might not fit into the same categories as oneself. It often begins with jokes or mocking the ‘other’, but such behaviour perpetuates hatred and can eventually lead to devastating consequences.
Pakistan is not just home to a certain group of people. It is home to everyone, regardless of their labels, beliefs or backgrounds. In recent times, we have witnessed just how crucial tolerance, peaceful dialogue and mutual acceptance are for a society to thrive. It is imperative that this spirit is fostered in Pakistan as well.
