Shadab sets sight on breaking Paolo Drocchi’s record

KARACHI: World record-holding walker Shadab Baloch has announced his plan to break the barefoot walking world record set by Italian athlete Paolo Drocchi.
He revealed his plan in a press conference at the Karachi Press Club on Tuesday. Thirty eight years old walker Shadab Baloch, who lives in Gulbhar, Karachi, said that Italian athlete Paolo Drocchi completed a barefoot walk of 3,409 kilometers over six months in 2024, earning a place in the Guinness World Records.
“I am ready to break this record,” Shadab Baloch declared, adding that the distance from Karachi to the historic city of Karbala, Iraq, is approximately 3,500 kilometers, and he aims to complete this journey in 99 days to set a new Guinness World Record.
