Shajar makes it to 400m semis in Asian Athletics
LAHORE: Pakistan’s sprinting sensation Shajar Abbas delivered an impressive performance in the Asian Athletics Championship, securing a spot in the 400-meter semifinal after a strong showing in the heats.
Clocking a time of 47.17 seconds, Abbas displayed solid form as he finished his round with determination. Meanwhile, Mueed, competing in the same event, finished seventh in his heat with a time of 50.10 seconds, falling short of qualification for the next round.
On the women’s side, Tamim Khan, the sole female athlete representing Pakistan, put up a commendable effort in the 100-metre heat, finishing fifth with a time of 12.14 seconds. With Pakistan’s sprinters showcasing promising results, focus now shifts to Arshad Nadeem and Yasir Sultan, who are set to compete in the javelin throw event on May 31.
