Outlaws held in Lakki Marwat operation

LAKKI MARWAT: Police have arrested scores of criminals and suspects during a search and strike operation in parts of Lakki Marwat district on Tuesday.

DPO Muhammad Jawad Ishaq said that the operation and snap checking was launched following credible reports about the presence of wanted men in rural areas of the district. He said that the counter-terrorism department and Al-Barq force commandos, district special branch and bomb disposal unit personnel backed by armoured personnel carriers and drones also took part in the daylong offensive.

“During the operation, the cops held eight proclaimed offenders, six drug barons, seven terrorists’ facilitators, 15 carriers of illegal weapons and 60 suspects and seized arms and ammunition and other contraband from them,” he claimed.

The district police chief said that the seizure items included two Kalashnikov rifles, one Kalakov rifle, 11 pistols, 2 repeater guns, one shotgun, 117 cartridges of different bore and 3.6kg hashish, one kg ice (crystal meth) and 800 grams of heroin.

BOY SCOUTS: Meanwhile, Boy Scout Association’s units were inaugurated at two government-run middle schools in Lakki Marwat district on Tuesday.Haji Naimatullah Khan Meenakhel, district scout secretary, performed the inauguration as a chief guest at separate ceremonies held in Government Middle Schools located in Wanda Saeedkhel and Multan Manjiwala areas.Schools’ headmasters Zakaullah Khan and Kaleemullah Khan, scout leaders, teachers and students were in attendance.
