CDA completes 75pc work on Jinnah Square project

Islamabad:The Capital Development Authority (CDA) will complete Jinnah Square, Murree Road underpass project during the ongoing month.

CDA Chairman and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa along with Member Engineering and other concerned officers, visited the Jinnah Square Murree Road Underpass project.

In line with the direction of Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, construction activities are being expedited to ensure the project's completion within the current month. During the briefing, project directors, consultants, and relevant officers updated Chairman CDA on the progress of ongoing construction work. They informed him that the slip roads of the Jinnah Square-Murree Road Underpass project have entered the final phase of completion. It was further shared that 75% of the construction work on the Murree Road Underpass project has already been completed.

Randhawa instructed the authorities to ensure high-quality construction and timely completion of the project. He directed that 24/7 construction work be carried out to meet the set targets, with simultaneous work on all sections of the project to further accelerate progress.

He emphasised that no compromise on quality or construction standards will be tolerated. He instructed consultants, resident engineers and the project director to ensure top-notch construction quality and timely completion under all circumstances.

He stated that the completion of the Jinnah Square Murree Road Underpass will save commuters' time and fuel. Additionally, it will provide signal-free travel facilities for passengers traveling from the New Islamabad International Airport to Murree and Kashmir.

Chairman CDA added that with the completion of this project, CDA is set to achieve a major milestone in Islamabad’s road infrastructure development. The underpass will significantly improve the city’s overall infrastructure, enhancing connectivity and traffic flow.
