HYDERABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) Sindh chapter held rallies across the province to condemn Indian aggression, with demonstrators chanting slogans against Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Indian army’s anti-Pakistan operations.
The rallies were held in the Pakistan-India border area of Nagarparkar as well as various cities, including Badin, Matli, Hyderabad, Karachi, Mirpurkhas, Shaheed Benazirabad and Sukkur, and most cities in Larkana Division.
The rallies saw massive participation from people belonging to various walks of life, with the demonstrators chanting slogans of ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ (Long Live Pakistan) and ‘Imran Khan Paindabad’ (Long Live Imran Khan).
In the village of Weil Verawah near the zero point of the Pakistan-India border in Nagarparkar (District Tharparkar), a rally was held by the Hindu community, with a significant participation from the minorities, who were chanting slogans against Modi.
PTI Sindh President Haleem Adil Sheikh led the rally, in which the demonstrators expressed strong anger against Modi and the Indian army, saying that Pakistanis, including the minorities, are united in the nation’s defence, and would respond strongly to Modi’s terrorism.
Sheikh said the white in the Pakistani flag represents our minorities. “Today they stood at the Indian border and sent a message that we are united as one nation.”
Declaring Modi a terrorist, he said the Indian PM’s cowardly army attacked mosques and madrasas, but the Pakistan Air Force retaliated by targeting Indian airports and military bases, earning national praise.
He also said the nation would not accept any ceasefire until the Indus Waters Treaty is restored, adding that Pakistanis would go to any length to protect their water. Expressing full confidence in Khan’s leadership, the PTI leader claimed that the former Pakistani premier remains imprisoned for fighting for the nation’s rights, yet the entire country is united on his call.
He also claimed that thousands of PTI leaders and workers, including Khan and Shah Mehmood Qureshi, are unjustly imprisoned. He stressed that despite “oppression” and “injustice”, the people stand as one nation for the country’s defence. He demanded the immediate release of all PTI leaders and workers, including Khan and Qureshi.
